A slip of earth occurred on the London and Croydon

Railway, at Finch's Bridge, soon after the eight o'clock down train had passed yeerday morning. The banks on each side fell upon the rails for a distance of 140 feet, and covered them to a depth of nine feet. Several flakes of earth have fallen lately in the same neighbourhood. Arrangements have been made to forward the passengers over the spot with a delay of not more than ten minutes; and a thousand labourers have been set to remove the obstruction.
