Off beam

Sir: Regarding Mr Patrick Cosgrave's profile of Enoch Powell (June 24) there is a well-known and experienced Fleet Street journalist called Mr Fergus Cashin, but to the best of my knowledge he has never written for the Times. There is also, to use Mr Cosgrave's words, an "experienced reporter" Mr Brian Cashinella, on the staff of the Times.

I am afraid I know nothing about the experience of Mr Cosgrave, but he appears to be off the beam here.
