Two books about cathedrals may be mentioned together. Hereford Cathedral,

by the Very Rev. Dean Leigh (Isbister and ('o, Is. net), after giving a short historical sketch of the church, describes the architecture and the chief features of the building in a popular way. This description is greatly assisted by the very pretty illustrations which have been furnished by the pencil of Mr. Iledley Fitton.—Saint David's : the Cathedral and See, by Philip A. Robson (G. Bell and Sons, is. 6d.), belongs to "Bell's Cathedral Series." The whole subject is treated more at length, as the plan of the series demands. The illustrations are from photographs.
