The Spectator

The price of The Spectator, which has been Maintained at 15p since June 1971, is raised to 2013 from this week. The rising costs which have necessitated th increase may be demonstrated. by many ex mples, but two will serve; the Price of paper has risen by 251 per cent and local authority rates by 254 per cent during the period. /t is only with the greatest reluctance that we have been forced to pass on a part of these increases, especially during a period of general stringency.

Also with effect 'from this issue, the arrangements for the distribution of The Spectator are being changed. We trust that they will result in the Journal being more readily and quickly available than in the past, but we recognise that there may well be some initial difficulties during the changeover period. Any readers who may experience particular and continual delays and difficulties in getting the paper are asked to communicate with the Circulation Manager, The Spectator, Watling Street, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Bucks.
