Abortion reform

Sir: The overwhelming support which the House of Commons gave to the principle of Mr James White's Abortion Reform Bill reflects the national awareness of some of the problems of abortion.

Every successful abortion results in a death that of the baby!

The Oxford Dictionary defines the word foetus as 'offspring' and the suggestion by many pro-abortionists that these offspring are not human an quite easily be disproved. There is a booklet 'Life Before Birth', which is a photographic record of all stages in the growth of a baby in its mother's womb. The pictures show that the baby is recognisable as such from as early as six weeks after conception, and that by eighteen weeks it is capable of sucking its thumb. It can also clench its fist and go through the motions of crying, having a complete set of vocal chords, although without air, it cannot make a sound. Only a few weeks later, there is hair on the baby's head and its eyes are beginning to open.

Many aborted babies are born very much alive and kicking.

If anyone would like a copy of this booklet I will send it on request, but please send 5p to cover postage. Audrey Booth 154 Tulketh Road, Ashton, Preston, Lancashire
