Morgan Motors

Sir: Whilst wholeheartedly agreeing with the sentiment expressed in your Notebook's comment 'Small is Beautiful' (February 15), I believe that you have overlooked the dependence of the Morgan Motor Co upon the British motor industry arlarge. Without access to small volume supplies of engines, transmission parts, steering components, etc, which are produced in large volumes at relatively low unit costs for mass produced vehicles, the products of the Morgan Motor Co could not be economically produced at all, let alone marketed at around £2,000.
