The installation of the Marquis of Breadalbane as Lord Rector

of Glasgow University took place on Saturday last, in the Common Hall of the College, in presence of the Faculty of the University, the students, and a numerous assemblage of ladies. Little interest seemed to be attached to the occasion by the citizens, few of whom were present. In his address, the Marquis exhorted his young hearers to prepare for the high duties which devolve in this age upon the literary man in actively furthering the advancement of civilization.
