Under the bead of "Manchester," the Leeds Mercury of this

morning announces that the Council of the Corn-law League is in full activity : the extent of the correspondence with its numerous branches is astonishing : "few post-offices" transmit more letters than those posted by the League. The Chartists and Anti-Corn-law agitators are making mutual overtures in Bradford : a Chartist who defeated a meeting of the Repealers a long time ago, lately volunteered to stand at a table to obtain signatures for petitions against the Corn-laws ; and the local Anti-Corn-law Association have agreed to hold a public discussion with the Chartists. At Stockport, there was a numerous meeting on Wednesday last, to petition for the Repeal ; in which, it is said, all parties joined, for the first time since the passing of the Reform Bill.
