THE King arrived in town from Windsor Castle soon after one o'clock on Wednesday, to hold a Court at St. James's Palace. Sir Stamford Whittingham kissed hands on his appointment to the com mend of the forces in the Leeward and Windward Isles. Dr. Otter did homage to his Majesty in the royal closet. for the see of Chichester, to which he has been recently elected. Lord John Russell, the Archbishop of Canferbury, and the Lord Chamberlain were present at the ceremohy. Thd Dutch ets df Gloutesief and the Princess Sophia visited the King; who allftgliV audience to Lord Melbourne, Lord Palmerston, Lord Holland, -Bard Glenelg, the Marquis of Conyngham, and the Earl of Coventry ; and then returned to Windsor, 'attended by Sir Herbert Taylor. The Dutchess of Kent and the Princess Victoria arrived at Rams.. gate on the evening of the 30th September, from Tunbridge Wells. The residence of Mr. J. A. Warre has been taken for their use, and it is expected that their stay at Ramsgate will not be less than two months" A general meeting of the inhabitants was held, and an address of congratulation presented to the Royal visiters, by a deputation of the principal gentlemen of the place. The Dutchess of Kent returned a suitable reply. On Monday afternoon, the Dutchess and Princess took their customary walk on the pier, and both looked remarkably well.
