Edwardina Castle went out to Sierra Leone as a missionary's wife a few days before the beginning of 1903, and died on her way home before the end of that year. Here we have extracts from her journal, a record of unceasing work, with a touch now and then of appreciative and humorous observation. One cannot help thinking how great are the risks of a young woman going out to such a life, lived in such a climate. The question thus raised is one of the extremest difficulty ; however we may answer that, it is good to read about the single-hearted devotion of such a worker for God and man.
