Some months since, a few gentlemen in Hampshire established a

Reformatory for boys. The first report of the Committee was read at a meeting in Winchester on Wednesday, held for the purpose of adopting the institution as the recognized Reformatory for the county. The Bishop of Winchester presided. The Speaker of the House of Commons moved, and the Archdeacon of Winchester seconded, a motion for the adoption of the report. Sir William Heatheote moved, and the Reverend Foster Rogers seconded, a resolution pledging the meeting to support the Reformatory. Both these were unanimously carried; and Hampshire has now a county establishment for the reformation of juvenile offenders.
