From Our Dead Selves to Higher Things. By Frederic James

Gant. (Nisbet and Co.)—The "dead selves" of the poet are not the same as the "dead selves" of these essays ; but the words form a convenient motto. Mr. Gant speaks of various forms of spiritual death (whereas the poet intends, of course, stages in an individual's development), and then of the possibilities and means of awakening to life. There is no little thought and practical wisdom in these essays.
