OXFORD, May 1.—In a convocation holden yesterday, the Bev. Ashhurst Turner Gilbert, D.D. Principal of Brasennose, was nominated, and approved, as a perpetual Delegate of Privileges, in the room of the Lord Bishop of Llandalf. III the same convocation, . the nomination of Berm Dickson Hampden, M.A. late Fellow of Oriel, and of the Rev. John Carr, M.A. Fellow of Balliol, as Public Examiners In Literis Humanioribus, and also of the Rev. Augustus Page Saunders, M.A. Student of Christ Church, as Public Examiner in Disciplinis BIathematicis et Physicis, was finally approved. At a meeting of the heads of Colleges holden this day, the Rev. Henry Soames, M.A. of Wadham College (author of the History of the Reformation of the Church of England), was elected to preach the Bampton Lectures for the year 1810.
