MR. CALDER'S spirited little book is a valuable footnote to
the history of this war. He describes the air-raids that London endured In the late summer of 194o, and then shows in detail how Londoners organised themselves for shelter and defence, often in advance of the local authorities' efforts. This account, illustrated with many excellent photographs, does justice to the courage and good sense of the London people.
