It was announced in Saturday's papers that invitations for a

visit to Canada had been sent to various British Ministers by the Canadian Government. The Prime Minister, the First Lord of the Admiralty, and the Secretaries of State for War and the Colonies are those whose names have been mentioned. It seems to be definitely understood that Mr. Churchill will visit Canada during the autumn, and many comments upon the fact have been appearing in the Canadian Press. The gist of these comments seems to be the remark, quoted on Monday from a Liberal paper by the Times correspondent in Toronto, that " Mr. Churchill will be welcome if he refuses to back up the policy of any particular party, and if be abstains from telling us what we ought to do."
