Sir: We read with interest Mr De'Ath's account of his time in Oxford, in particular at Clark's House Bail Hostel. CAt the bail hostel'), 3 August 1991.) We have been particularly concerned about the state of the hostel, which is a listed building.
However if Mr De'Ath were to return to us next year he would find Clark's House much changed. The Home Office have approved for Clark's House to undergo a major refurbishment to improve facilities for residents. Unfortunately Pam will be retiring soon so we can't promise a similar `chain smoking' welcome. We will all miss her.
