Daughters of Armenia. By Mrs. S. A. Wheeler, Missionary in
Turkey. (Oliphant.)—Mrs. Wheeler is an American missionary, who has spent many years among the Armenians, and she makes a very readable little book out of her experiences. A preliminary chapter tells us "Who are the Armenians," not in a very scientific way ; Mrs. Wheeler is much more at home in describing them. She interests us very much by her account of the life of the women, and of how she attracted them to her work. The book will scarcely please members of the "Society for Promoting the Union of Christen- dom. The writer, they will think, intruded very presumptuously into the parishes of the Armenian priests.
