Waste of space
Sir: I've never heard of Sion Simon (`Turn- coats, traitors, cowards', 20/27 December), but he's obviously made little progress beyond elementary lessons in diatribe.
Frankly, more fool you for paying him anything more than washers for this adoles- cent stew of misrepresentation, smarmy invective and hopeless double standards.
Still, I suppose it filled a page at a time of year when most people are looking to get off early, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was only the chap over the road who lent me his copy who actually took the time to read it. A shame, though, to be printing such tosh when a proper writer prepared to get off his backside and out of London could do an interesting piece on the real politics of why those alleged Tory 'heart- lands' changed.
