It is reported that owing to the defeat of Mr Kamaraf and other Congress leaders Mrs Gandhi's position as Prime Minister has been somewhat strengthened.

While politicians elsewhere find it handy Should their opponents meet their appointed ends, How much more fortunate is Mrs Gandhi, Who even manages to lose her friends.
