'Tint Queen held a levee at St..James's Palace on Wednesday. Her Majesty and Prince Albert arrived from Buckingham Palace, in the usual state, by two O'cl oc k ; and were conducted to the Royal closet. Here audiences were given to 'the Bishop of Ely, who did homage on his appointment to the see; to the Duke d Wellington, the Earl of Hadcluigton, and- Lord Forester. The levee was at- tended by the Duke of Cambridge, Prince George, the newly-arrived Prince of Leiningen, and Prince Ernest of Hesse-Philippsthal. The presentations were very. turnieroue. After the levee, the Earl of Effingham had an audience, and delivered the insignia of the Bath worn by the late Earl. The Queen and Prince Albert then returned to Buckingham Palace.
- Her Majesty gave an audience to Sir Robert Peel, yesterday. The Prince of Leiningen arrived at Buckingham Palace, as a visitor to the Queen on Monday rimming, from Brussels.
A fête was given to the Royal children by the Queen Dowager, at Marlborough House, on Monday afternoon. The Queen and Prince Albert, with the Prince of Wales, the Princess Royal, and the Princess Alice, arrived by four o'clock; and a party, comprising most of the Royal personages in town and many of the nobility, assembled at the same time. The Danseuses Viennoises exhibited before thecom- tiany ; then there was a banquet; and the young visitors returning home at seven, the party broke up.. On Monday evening, the Queen had a concert at Buckingham Palace. The company consisted of Prince Edward of Saxe-Weimar, fPnnce Ernest of Hesse- Philippsthal, several Diplomatic gentlemen with their ladies the Speaker, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and many ladies and gentlemen attached to the several 'Hopi Households. The Queen and Prince Albert went to the Colosseum on Satin-day afternoon; to "the Italian Opera on Saturday and Tuesday. On Thursday, her Majesty went to 'the Opera with the Prince of Leiningen.
Queen Victoria visited Queen Adelaide on Thursday. Prince Albert was visited by Prince George of Cambridge on Sunday; and there has been a constant wand of morning rall among the Royal Family.
On Thursday, Prince Albert accompanied the Dowager Dutchess of Baden to the Botanic Gardens in the Regent's Park. His Royal Highness presided at a meeting of the Fine Arts Commission on Tuesday, and afterwards visited Sir Richard Westrnacott.
