Market matters
Sir: The ubiquitous and loquacious Mr Ernest Wistrich came here during the week to tell the good people of Bucks why they should vote for our continued membership of the EEC. The arguments he used were the same as those he was using in 1971, though they are of course even less convincing than they were then.
As an ex-serviceman I am concerned at the possible take-over of the Market bureacracy by the large Continental Communist parties, so 1 asked Mr Wistrich if this was possible. He laughed at my question, replying that as the Market consists of 250 million people such a situation is unthinkable, indeed, impossible.
Is it? Numbers did not prevent China going Communist.
The truth is that the Market apparatus is tailor-made for eventual Com munist take-over. •
Having opted out of the Market we can deal with the Communists and fellow-travellers in our midst by constitutional means. Alas, dealing with a Communist-controlled bureacracy in Brussels is a very different kettle of fish. R. G. W. Rickcord 38 Tiffany Close, Bletchley, Bucks
