The number of ships entering and leaving British ports increased by one hundred and fifty-seven over the previous week's total, but we lout only six ships over 1,603 tons, as compared with thirteen the week before, and three smaller ships, against four in the preceding week. One ship was attacked without success. It looks as if the enemy, having made a special effort with little success during October, were now compelled to rest his harassed submarine crews who have survived our vigorous offensive. But the danger is still very great. The ' U '-boat has been checked, lout is not yet mastered.
