Khan yarns

Sir: Two other yarns about Mirza Abdul Hassan Khan for Elizabeth Longford's collection (Books, 16 July).

They took him to a concert and he derived great pleasure from two things, the tune played before the National Anthem it turned to be the orchestra tuning up. Also he greatly admired the men who swallowed the brass rods, i.e., the trom- bone players!
