Is there a schoolboy who has not heard :-- " Look before you leap, but if you mean leaping, don't look long. Or the weakest place will soon grow stiff and the strongest doubly strong.'

Lindsay Gordon may not have been a great poet, but he was a very human one, and some of his lines have found a home in the English language. May his memory never grow dim.
