Viscount Canterbury's claim to compensation for the destruction of his

property by the fire at the House of Lords, was the subject of an a :verse decision in the Court of Chancery today ; the Lord Chancellor deciding, on demurrer by the Attorney-General, that the claim could not be sustained. If his opinion was wrong, he said, it could be set aside by a writ of error.
