Singapore revisited

Sir: Since Anthony Burgess's article on Singapore appeared (6 June), your readers will be interested to know 'Mr Lee's dicta- torial pragmatism' has led him to order all students to have their hair cut short or have their superiors do it for them. Even a boy scouts' camp master never asked so much of its youthful followers, and they prqbably felt just as strongly about reaching the minds of men etc etc.
