The Bill to increase Ministers' salaries has now passed to
Another Place. The report stage was chiefly notable for a speech by Sir Stafford Cripps on the duties and emolu- ments of the Law Officers. The Liberals renewed their attack on the proposed salary for the Leader of the Opposition on the ground that this was the first time that the disposal of a sum of public money had been placed within the gift of a party caucus.
