There was some fighting between the Carlists, under NIAnoTo, and

the Queen of Spain's troops, commanded by ESPARTERO, on the 27th and 30th of April, before the fortified village of Ramales. The Carlists were defeated with the loss of between 400 and 500 men. MAROTO abandoned 'tamales, but carried his artillery with him. It remains to be seen whether ESPARTERO will pursue his advantage.
