That PEST
Sir: With reference to Tom Puzzle's column (October 28) I must point out that the "curious student organisation" PEST, has as its Patron, Mr Peter Walker, its Vice-Presidents are Lord Boyle, Robert Carr, Lord Harlech, Earl Jellicoe and Maurice Macmillan. For hcnorary members there are ever forty MPs, and I am sure that they will be delighted to know that they are sponsoring and associated' with a "curious student organisaticn " — Tom Puzzle's description of us.
PEST's membership is largely made up of graduates and nonuniversity people, although we are proud of university branches and of the contribution they make.
We are very pleased to allow the Child Poverty Action Group to display their latest analysis of poverty, as it is our policy to be associated with as many groups as possible in the field of social reform and care. Perhaps Tom Puzzle in his snide way finds this curious as well.
