The Crack Shot, by Edward C. Barber (Sampson Low), is
a full account of the theory of shooting, that is, of the laws of motion, with particulars of the action of gravity, resistance, &e., of the various systems of manufacturing firearms, and of the different rifles which have been produced. At the same time, it supplies practical directions to the shooter, the precautions he is to take, the allowances for wind, &e., he has to make. And it has several chapters on various kinds of sport,, bison shooting and deer shooting, for instance, for which the rifle is used.
