We are sorry that Mr. C. E. M. Joad has

written The Babbitt Warren (Paul, Trench, Trubner, 6s.). On matters of philosophy Mr. Joad has often delighted our readers with his brilliant expositions, but on the United States we feel that it is an impertinence for him to write, for he has never visited that country, as he admits in his preface.
