Stephen Ward
Sir: 'Spectator's Notebook' (March 29) refers to the deplorable campaign in the 1960s by the Establishment against the late Dr Stephen Ward.
May I as a former patient of his and the art dealer who introduced his portraits to the public, try to redress the heavy balance against his reputation which he can no longer defend himself? As far as I am aware, none of his patients or sitters had cause to complain of any impropriety whatsoever, and I myself knew him to be a man of complete integrity in his professional capacity as both osteopath and artist.
