REVISION OF THE PRAYER-BOOK.

[To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.] SIR,—With reference to your recent article on the above subject, the statement therein made that the proposed alterations, which have received the apparent approval of the Church Representative Bodies, are contrary to the mind and desire of the vast majority of the Church of England laity is absolutely correct. It might also have been added that those alterations, especially the attempt to make the Communion Service correspond in some degree to the Popish Mass, will, if persisted in, inevitably rend the Church of England in twain from top to bottom.—I am, Sir, &c.,
