A trip with the dictionary

Sir: Anthony Lejeune's fine plea in defence of rationalism (5 June), unfortunately provides an example itself of the 'deliberate vagueness of expression' which the author so rightly condemns in others. Unless, of course, the term 'hippy' is not 'a piece of verbal woolliness' after all.
