Cloudy stuff
Sir: Up until now, Paul Johnson has been absolutely right about everything, but he is incorrect to state (And another thing, 29 May) that Hofstra University's commence- ment speaker was 'the famous puppeteer and ventriloquist Cynthia Gregory'. In fact, Cynthia Gregory was a prima ballerina with George Balanchine's company. The com- mencement speaker at Hofstra was the famous puppeteer and ventriloquist (and Star Trek scriptwriter) Shari Lewis, who does not noticeably resemble Cynthia Gre- gory.
However, the campus of Hofstra Univer- sity is awash with marijuana fumes at all times, which may explain why Mr Johnson's powers of observation were clouded.
