Woman's work

Sir: Can any of your Roman Catholic corre- spondents explain something for me? Two ministers have publicly explained that they have left the Church of England for the Roman Catholic Church because the decision to ordain women priests has robbed the Church of England of moral authority.

One of these ministers is a woman, the other quite happily served under a woman prime minister, and the Church in which they used to worship has a woman as its supreme governor.

In what way is a woman lacking in moral authority to explain the word of God, but not lacking in moral authority to run a gov- ernment?
