Micklem. (Methuen and Co. 12s. 6d. net.)—The " Westminster Commen- taries," of which this book forms the latest volume, " aim at coin- bining a hearty acceptance of critical principles with loyalty to the Catholic Faith " ; but their main purpose is exegetical. We do not therefore expect to find in Canon Micklem's book any discussion of the historical value of such incidents as the Visit of the Magi ; but within the limits set by the series the treatment is thorough and candid. A good example of the editor's sanity of judgment is the note in the introduction on the " use of the Old Testament in the Gospel." .
