" Pauline " runs away from intolerable parents to relations

in Germany, marries a foreign count of wealth and eccentric habits, is widowed, and becomes affianced to a decadent and neurotic specimen of post-War London Society man. The story leaves her full of relief at the breaking off of this last engagement.
