Jersey : An Isle of Romance. By Blanch B. Elliot.
Illustrated with. Etchings by H. V. Edge and with a Frontispiece by Edmmed Blampied. (T. Fisher Unwin. 10s. 6d. net.) . Ina prose which rarely irritates and never delights, Miss Elliot gives a pleasant, undistinguished account of Jersey. in the tradition of such books. Her description of the island and the inhabitants is supported by chapters on its truly romantic history, " quaint " customs, laws and origins. A book most useful to the tourist, but mildly readable in itself. The illus- trations are suitable.
