VICKERS-ARMSTRONG AGREEMENT.
Unquestionably the outstanding feature in the industrial world during the past week has been. the announcement of the proposed agreement between Vickers -and Armstrongs, the great iron and steel and armament makers, The agreement is not in the nature of-a complete amalgamation, but a new company is to be formed which will-takeover certain particular and important activities of both concerns. The matter is of great interest and in7iportanCe by reason of the very large financial interests directly affected, but why I have referred to it as really constituting an outstanding feature in the industrial world during the past week is because it is concerned with a policy which has a very direct relation with present conditions in some of our -key hithistries. -
