Warriors and Statesmen. From the " Gleanings " of the
late Earl Brassey. Eelected and Arranged by Horace G. Hutchinson. (J. Murray. 9s. net.)—The late Lord Brassey kept a commonplace. book and printed three volumes of selections from it for circulation among his friends. Out of the remaining materials Mr. Hutchinson, at his desire, has made a further selection relating mainly to eminent persons of the nineteenth century, with Queen Victoria at the head. The passages are taken, for the most part, from familiar books by Lord Morley, Lord Rosebery, Justin McCarthy, Henry Reeve, Spencer Walpole, and others.
