Sir: I am sorry that Dominic Lawson, while poking fun at the Independent's obituaries, (Diary, 28 September) could not have found room to praise the Telegraph for its brilliantly innovative approach to these notices. You don't have to be rich or famous or high-born nowadays to get a mention; nor, indeed, do you have to be dead.
