regret that you did not append an editorial note to the letter regarding "than whom" in your last issue. In colloquial speech most Lowland Scotsmen use " than " as a preposition governing the accusative. I hope I may continue to quote the Spectator's authority for this usage against all schoolmasters and your Irish correspondent.—I am, Sir, &c.,
