The British Minister, Sir Ronald Macleay, is now well enough
to return as our chief delegate to the Conference. As financial adviser he will have Col. Sydney Peel, who after distinguishing himself as a scholar at Eton and Oxford made his career in the City before the War. He fought with his Yeomanry and later did financial work in the Foreign Office and at the Peace Conference. The qualifications of the commercial delegate, Mr. K. D. Stewart, seem to be admirable, since he has been a prominent member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and is now one of the Manchester Chamber.
