Is the service before or after dinner? If before dinner, is this -a seemly way of spending the evening ushering in the Sabbath? Clergymen, who have a strong sense of the responsibility attached to the Sunday duties, generally spend the Saturday evening in reflection and preparation for them : the practice is, to transpose the phrase, " more honoured in the observance than in the breach."
