MAMMAL ODDITIES [To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.]
Sia,—I imagine the utterly unknown animal described by Sir William Beach Thomas, in the Spectator of March 30th, is probably a Reeves Meontjae, of which there are many in some of the woods of the adjoining county. The girl's de- scription equally applies to it and in no way to a roe.
It is quite harmless, and not even the timorous person who pursued the harmless bear and white-tailed eagle with guns and rifles need fear it.—I am, Sir, &c.,
