MR. ROBERT EDWARDS
SIR,—On January 26, I wrote a television article, the first paragraph of which could be read as a tribute (which in this sense was perfectly sincere) to Mr. Jimmy Edwards, but I should like now frankly to admit that there was an ulterior meaning by which it might be understood to be an attack upon Mr. Robert Edwards, then acting editor of the Daily Express. I now recognise that this was a hurtful and unjustified private joke which should never have been made, and I should like to apologise un- reservedly to Mr. Robert Edwards.
Also, sir, I owe an apology to you, who had no knowledge of the circumstances relating to what you printed.
