Fantastic Stories. By Edward Yardley, jun. (Longman and Co.)— Certainly
these tales are not without wit ; but if they are to be regarded as fairy stories children do not appreciate satire, and if they are meant for the grown-up the volume is trivial. Taken one by one in a periodical they might amuse, and are too short for serious censure. To reprint them was, we think, a mistake.
