SIR.—lf Christopher Booker wants to take issue with Richard Ingrains
on 'one point of fact' he should try to get that single one right. With breathtaking confidence he tells us that the actual name of Mr. Macmillan was never mentioned throughout Beyo,td The Fringe. If he were to consult the text of the show (Souvenir Press, 13s. 6d., an ideal Christmas gift) he would find that the name Macmillan occurs seventeen times in the opening sketch.
As to whether this was the 'new thing' about Beyond The Fringe, I leave that to the experts who will doubtless continue with their secret plans to bore the British public to death.
