The House of Representatives in New Zealand take even a

less favourable view (if that be possible) of Sir George Grey's pro- ceedings in the matter of the Waitara despatch, intended to throw discredit on his predecessor, Colonel Gore Browne, for the purchase of that block of land, than the Duke of Newcastle himself, whose severe reply- we recently noticed. The Assembly assert that Sir George Grey's statements are false, and he is so unpopular there, and we fear so deservedly unpopular, that we trust he may soon be recalled.
